Not in your head. In your life.
This isn’t a course where you nod along and feel inspired. For four weeks, you’ll be asked to look at the stories you’ve been living inside, and you’ll be called out, with respect, when you’re defending one.
You move through it with a small crew of 6–8 people who share your start date and meet live with Burke on Zoom once a week. Every week runs the same way:
Watch
Write down one honest answer, then watch a short recorded briefing from Burke.
Do
Take the week’s assignment into your real life, with a two-minute check every night.
Tell the truth
Meet your crew and Burke live. A few people are coached in depth while everyone watches and sees their own story in someone else’s.
Four weeks. One pattern.
- Day 0
Enlist
Make five agreements, starting with being honest with yourself, and write a sealed letter to the person who finishes this course.
- Week 1
The Story
See the difference between what happened and the meaning you added, and do one act of courage about it.
- Week 2
The Rules
Find the unwritten rules that no longer apply, and turn one from an order into a choice by breaking it once, safely.
- Week 3
The Pressure
Catch the pattern in the moment it matters, and make one real decision from presence instead of habit.
- Week 4
The Cost
Count what the pattern has given and taken, have one honest conversation, choose a new sentence, and open your letter.
- Day 30
The Check-in
Your crew meets with Burke once more, and you open the reply you wrote to yourself.
Each week.
You’ll need a notebook for the four weeks, and somewhere quiet with your camera on for each Dialogue.
What runs through it all.
Silence
Every Dialogue opens with one minute of silence.
The word check
Every Dialogue opens with one question: did you do what you said you would? Yes or no. Then everyone closes with a promise that has a by-when.
The chair
Three or four people are coached in depth while the crew watches. You can always pass on sharing.
Honest, not harsh
We challenge the story, never the person. Defensiveness gets challenged; overwhelm means we stop.
Burke Bryant.
Every briefing is Burke, straight to camera, telling the truth about his own stories, rules and cost. He leads every live Dialogue himself.
Go deep. Stay safe.
At checkout you’ll be asked one question: whether you’d like to talk with Burke before you start. Choose “Yes, talk first” if you’re currently in crisis, in active treatment for a mental-health condition, or going through a recent loss or trauma. A yes doesn’t rule you out. It starts a short, private conversation about whether now is the right time.
If you’re in crisis right now, please don’t wait for a course. In the US, call or text 988. Elsewhere, find a line at findahelpline.com.
Agree to five things. Then enlist.
- Be honest with yourself first. You can’t change a story you won’t admit you’re telling.
- Do the work in your real life, not just in your head.
- Live in integrity. Do what you say you’ll do. If you can’t, say so before, not after, and clean it up. Your word is how anything gets built.
- Let yourself be called on it. We challenge the story, never the person.
- You can always pass on sharing. You can’t pass on looking.
If that sounds uncomfortable, good. That’s usually where the story is.
Tick the agreement above to enlist.
